L’Oréal India provides L’Oréal India For Young Women in Science Scholarship for young women who have passed class 12 with a minimum of 85% marks in PCB/PCM. The scholarship is granted to talented young women who can’t afford educational expenses because of financial issues. The scholarship covers college fees for study in any scientific field in a recognized college or university in India. The main aim of this scholarship is to support and encourage young women to pursue careers in Science. The programme was instituted in 2003 and has consistently helped young women to pursue scientific studies.
Eligibility:
This Scholarship is only for girl students who want to pursue a degree course in Science/ Medical/ Engineering/ Biotechnology or any other scientific field, in a recognized institute in India.
- Applicant must have Passed class 12 in Science field from an institution in India with a minimum score of 85% in PCB / PCM.
- Applicant should have taken admission to the graduate program.
- Maximum 19 years of age as on year of application.
- Annual family income of the applicant should be less than INR 4,00,000.
Awards and Benefits:
The scholarship amount up to INR 2.5 lacs, will be given in equal annual installments over the period of the degree of study. The scholar has to submit the proof of she passing each year.

- Fees receipt (attested by college)
- Student’s own bank account number
- PAN Card Copy or Aadhar Card
- Passbook copy, which clearly mentions the PRINTED bank account details and IFSC code (attested by bank)
- OR Blank bank cheque, on which clearly mentions the PRINTED name of account holder, bank account number and IFSC code with the word CANCELLED written on it
- OR an original letter from the bank having all the details (Name of the account holder, Bank Name, Branch, Account Number & IFSC Code)
- Attached undertaking signed by yourself and either one of your parents
Selection criteria:
Shortlisted candidates and her parents will be called to attend an interview in Mumbai/ Delhi/ Bangalore/ Hyderabad/ Kolkata (based on the proximity of the candidate) at their own cost. The interview will be conducted by a jury consisting of eminent members of the scientific and academic communities along with L’Oréal India representatives.

Q. Is the scholarship given as a loan? What if the amount required for the education is less than 2.5 lakhs?
A: The scholarship amount is paid in equal annual installments and is not given as a loan. While it does not have to be refunded by the recipient, it is subject to the student passing her exams. Students found to have submitted false information will have to refund the scholarship amount.
